Bangladesh was born as an independent country: - India and India gained independence in 1947 and Pakistan was divided into two countries, Pakistan was divided into two parts, one was East Pakistan and the other was West Pakistan. East Pakistan did not interfere much in the politics of the country. People were unhappy. . Despite a majority in parliament, Mujib-ur-Rehman was imprisoned instead of being made prime minister. Which led to the outbreak of war between East Pakistan and West Pakistan on March 26, 1971. As a result, millions of Bangladeshis took refuge in India. As the number of refugees in India increased, it became a problem for India. At the request of Bangladesh, India intervened in the war which led to the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. India won the war and on December 16, 1971, independent Bangladesh was born out of Pakistan. Azad became the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh Mujib-ur-Rehman.
