:: Udham Singh ::
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on the day of his martyrdom paid homage to the revolutionary and great patriot Shaheed Udham Singh. Born in 1899 in Sunam, Sangrur district of Punjab, Udham Singh was a political activist who was associated with the Ghadar Party while in the United States.
The Ghadar Party was a multi-ethnic communist party founded by Sohan Singh Bhakana in 1913. The California-based team was committed to expelling the British from India. On April 13, 1919, Brigadier General Reginald Dyer ordered the expulsion of participants in a peaceful meeting at Jallianwala Bagh, in which thousands of unarmed men, women and children were killed. including Udham Singh, blamed Michael A. Dryer for the massacre, as he was the Deputy Governor of Punjab at the time and General Dyer was acting on his orders. Bir, March 7, In view of this, Udham Singh shot A'dier on March 13, 1940 at a meeting of the East India Association and the Royal Central Asian Society at Caxton Hill. He was immediately arrested and sent to Brixton Prison. Meanwhile, he identified himself as "Mohammad Singh Azad" in police statements and court proceedings, a symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity in the Indian freedom struggle. He was sentenced to death and executed on July 31, 1940 in Pantonville Prison for murder.

Muslim Women's Rights Day was organized on 1st August to highlight the importance of the law against three divorces across the country. The Central Government had on August 1, 2019 enacted a law declaring the practice of three divorces a legal offense.
It is believed that the law enacted by the Indian government was aimed at ensuring "gender equality" and strengthening the constitutional, fundamental and democratic rights of Muslim women by enacting legislation against serious social evils such as triple divorce. The purpose of this law is to promote self-reliance and self-esteem in women so that they become more empowered.
Under a law passed by Parliament, a declaration of divorce would be considered a cognizable offense, punishable by up to 3 years in prison.
It may be mentioned that this law has reduced the cases in three talukas by 3%. Egypt was the first Muslim nation to end the social evil called Triple Divorce in 1929, after which it was banned by Sudan, Pakistan (1956), Malaysia (1969), Bangladesh (1972), Iraq (1959), and Syria (1953).

National Award Well known businessman and founder of Pune based Serum Institute of India - President Cyrus Poonawala has been selected for the prestigious ‘Lokmanya Tilak National Award’ for the year 2021. Cyrus Poonawala will be honored for his work and important role in the Serum Institute of India during the coronavirus epidemic, where Covishield Rasimota is being built on a large scale. Cyrus Poonawala and his company have been instrumental in providing different vaccines at affordable prices.
The Lokmanya Tilak National Award was established in 1983 in honor of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, one of the earliest and most vocal supporters of complete independence or self-government.
The award includes a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a memento for the recipient. Its recipients include former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Dr. Manmohan Singh, former President Pranab Mukherjee and Infosys founder N.R. Narayan Murthy is involved. Bhubaneswar: The country's first city The capital Bhubaneswar has become the first city in India to carry out 100 per cent vaccination against Kovid-19. The first dose of covid vaccine has also been given to about one lakh foreign workers in the state. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation had set standards for various categories of people to complete the vaccination process within the stipulated time frame of July 31, 2021.
The vaccinators include about 3 lakh people aged 18 years and above. The Adisha government had set district-wise targets for vaccinating a total of 3.5 lakh people every day.
Born in the district on August 2, 1876, Pingali Venkaiah received his early education at Bhatalapenmaru and Machli Pattan and served as a soldier in the British Army during the Anglo-Boer War in Africa at the age of 19. It was during this war that he met Gandhiji while living in South Africa and was very much influenced by him. After returning from Africa, Pingali Venkaiah spent most of his time doing research on agriculture and cotton cultivation. He also studied Sanskrit, Urdu and Japanese at the Anglo Vedic School in Lahore. Between 1918 and 1921, Pingali Venkaiah saluted the flag at almost every session of the Congress.
Acknowledging the need for a national flag, Gandhiji asked Venkaiah to come up with a new design at a meeting of the National Congress in 1921. Initially Venkaiah used only red and green colors in the flag, representing the Hindu and Muslim communities respectively. But later a spinning wheel and a third color (white) were also included in the center. The flag was officially adopted by the Indian National Congress in 191. Pingali Venkaiah died on July 4, 1963.
