 KARGIL VICTORY DAY

🚩 ..Kargil Victory Day i.e. 26th July in Kargil India defeated Pakistan and won the war.  This war is also known as Operation Victory which took place to remove the infiltration from Pakistan in the Kargil area.  After the Kargil victory, the then Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee declared this day as Kargil Victory Day.  This day is then celebrated as Victory Day.  In 1999, the Kargil sector was occupied by Pakistani troops disguised as terrorists.  Initially, the Indian Army also denied the occupation of the sector by Pakistani troops, although the Indian government launched a major operation in Kargil after several press reports.

Kargil Victory Day

It has been 17 years since the Kargil war, but the courage of Indian soldiers still lingers in the minds of the people.  Today is the day to remember the heroes of our country and their sacrifices and to pay tribute to their heroism, courage and bravery and to pay homage to the martyred heroes.
On July 26, 1999, the Indian Army badly defeated Pakistan in a dangerous battle fought on the hills of Kargil.  Many Indian soldiers were killed in this war and it was their sacrifice that made India victorious.  India had earlier defeated Pakistan in the war in 1965 and 1971.  Three months before the Kargil War, the then Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee visited Pakistan.  In order to maintain peace and harmony with Pakistan, the Prime Minister himself started a peace bus and went to Pakistan in the same bus.  Pakistan then greeted India with a cannon salute.  But it is said that a dog's tail is crooked.

All the efforts of India proved futile and soon after that war was fought with India by the same cannons.
Pakistan has the image of a terrorist country in the world.  The people of the world have always accepted Pakistan's links with terrorists.  The 1999 war was aimed at deterring the infiltration of Pakistani troops into the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir.  The issue of Jammu and Kashmir has been a bone of contention between India and Pakistan since independence.  At that time Pakistan had annexed a small part of Indian Jammu and Kashmir which is today known as POK.  Since then, there have been regular infiltrations into Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan.  The Kargil region is very important in terms of India's borders.  Kargil has strategically important hills on the border.  In Kargil at an altitude of 18000 feet, the winter temperature is as low as -60.  For the same reason, it is very difficult for us to stay in Kargil and protect the border.  Due to which going to winter comes down from this hill.  Taking advantage of this, the Pakistani army took over the Kargil hills in the guise of terrorists.  India launched 'Operation Victory' to retaliate against Pakistan.

CURRENT AFFAIRS

With the start of 'Operation Vijay', India started giving a scathing response to Pakistan.  But with Pakistan's army at an altitude of 18,000 feet, India was naturally facing many obstacles in retaliation.  At that time, the hero of the Kargil war, Captain Vijay Batra and his team climbed the hill and destroyed the Pakistani artillery and the bunkers captured by the Pakistani infiltrators of the Indian Army and laid the foundation for victory for India.  India finally defeated Pakistan on July 26, 1999, after a three-month war.  Initially, Pakistan never officially acknowledged that the Pakistani military was involved in the war.  Pakistan later admitted that it was not the militants but the Pakistani army that was involved in the Kargil war.
On this very day 17 years ago, the brave soldiers defeated Pakistan and hoisted the tricolor on Kargil.  Today, as part of the Kargil Day celebrations, tributes are being paid to all the martyrs who were martyred at the Amar Jawan Jyot at India Gate in Delhi.  The country's defense minister and the heads of the three wings of the army are also present.  Also the citizens of the country light lamps and pay homage to the martyrs.  Apart from Delhi, various programs are also organized in other states and cities of the country to pay homage to the heroic sons of the country.
India assigned about 2 lakh troops for Operation Vijay.  In the battle of Kargil, 527 of our brave soldiers were martyred.  The country still remembers the heroic story of the heroic soldiers of Mother India.  The Kargil War is unique in the history of world war as it was not only a war between two countries but a war fought at the highest altitude.

The Kargil war and its aftermath signaled a very long-term defense and foreign policy for India.  When the then Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was shaking hands with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif in Lahore, the Pakistan Army had planned the next war by occupying the Indian outposts and bunkers as per the plan of the then Pakistan Army Chief Pervez Musharraf.  When India officially launched Operation Victory, troops were rocked across the Pakistan border as part of preparations for a major war.  Despite Operation Victory being launched by the Indian Army and Air Force despite natural obstacles and the reluctance of global powers, there was a fear of a full-scale Indo-Pakistani war all over the world.  India's victory in this war was decided by Bofors cannons, which were highly criticized on the issue of corruption.  Though India evacuated its territory with the bravery of the brave soldiers of the Indian Army and the cunning policy of the political leaders, it maintained India's old policy of non-aggression by not launching cross-border attacks that the world was concerned about.  What happened at that time clearly indicates that Pakistan as a country or its leaders can never be trusted and the sooner Indian leaders realize this, the more Indian foreign policy will succeed.
