Literary and Linguistic Institutions (1) Gujarat Sahitya Akademi (Conducted by: Government of Gujarat, Venue: Gandhinagar, Year: 18, Spokesperson: Shri Dasrishti) Sahitya Akademi was started at the national level in 19th. The first award of Delhi Sahitya Akademi was given to Mahadevbhai Desai for 'Mahadevbhai's Diary'. Seeing the excellent work of Delhi Sahitya Akademi, it was decided to open Sahitya Akademi in every state. As part of which Fifteen 'Gujarat Sahitya Akademi' was established in Gujarat in the 19th century. Gujarati Sahitya Parishad gives Shri Arvind Suvarna Chandrak to the best original work on devotional work, Bhagini Nivedita award to the best work of the author and more than thirty different awards.
