6 NOTE ADYO 01 In the Export Preparedness Index 2020 announced by the Policy Commission, Gujarat ranks first in the entire country - Export Promotion Policy - Institutional Framework - Business Ecosystem, Business Environment - Infrastructure - Transport EXPORT Connectivity. INDEX 2020 The newly announced Industry Policy 2020 also identifies 100 per cent export oriented units as a thrust sector. - 1600 km Gujarat alone accounts for 20% of the country's total exports along the coast - exporting to more than 180 countries. - Gujarat has also been first in the LEADs Index in 2018-19 for the excellence of infrastructural facilities for transporting goods. - Gujarat has got the leading position in this index among the important parameters of different parameters. These include Export Promotion Policy, Business Environment R&D Support, Export Diversification, Infrastructure and Transport Connectivity. - Gujarat accounts for 8% of the country's GDP and 17% of industrial output. - 1600 km of strategic coastline in the state has become a "gateway to the world" for maritime global trade and commerce. Gujarat alone accounts for 20 per cent of the country's total exports with 48 major ports. Not only that, Gujarat provides the need for goods and services in more than 180 countries of the world. Gujarat carries 40% of the total cargo carrying capacity. Mundra, India's largest commercial port, is also located in Gujarat and has given priority to Gujarat in cargo carrying capacity with the arrival of huge container vessels. - Out of 500 Fortune companies in the world, about 60 companies have selected Gujarat for their national-international business and have set up their own units. - The growth of industrial infrastructure is also accelerating exports. In the Great Places of Manufacturing in India for Multinationals released by Invest India in May 2020, various places in Gujarat have also been declared the best for industry establishment. - Country
It covers India's first PCPIR of dowry, automobile and auto components in Sanand-Mandal Becharaji as well as drug and pharmaceuticals in Halol and electronics and consumer appliances product manufacturing in Sanand. As a result of the policy adopted in the state of single window clearance system, transparent administration and recommandation not reformation, foreign industrial investments in the state have also been induced on a large scale and Gujarat policy has emerged as a drone state. These investments also create a conducive environment for the comprehensive development of exports. According to reports from the Department of Promotion of Industry and Industrial Trade-DPIIT, Government of India, Gujarat has also taken the lead in obtaining such Industrial Entrepreneur Memorandum IEM. Such IEMs have increased fivefold between 2015 and 2019. Gujarat has also recorded 240 per cent in Foreign Direct Investment FDI in the year 2019-20.
